CALL FOR ENTRY   NO FEE !
Calling all thrifters and photographic artists!

During Month of Photography in Colorado, Buffalo Exchange Boulder will celebrate photography and the unexpected with an exhibition of your photographic mail art creations!  The art of the thrift and the eco-conscience act of being green will collide with original works art.  The exhibition will be dedicated to an exchange of ideas and the vintage thrill of corresponding through the mail.  2D, objects, and 3D work will all be considered.  Surprise and challenge us with your original artwork.  We want you to put your own unique twist on your mail art and help us celebrate photography, community, and fashion.  Don’t miss your chance to show your work in Colorado during Month of Photography!

During our closing reception, which coincides with Earth Day, all work included in the show will offered for symbolic sale to visitors.  For a minimum donation of at least $1, visitors and guests will have the opportunity to purchase their favorite one-of-a-kind work of art and the money will support a local charity.

Buffalo Exchange started in Tucson Arizona in 1974.  Our three Colorado locations are independently owned franchises, having opened our doors in the fall of 1995. Buffalo Exchange has had a passion for art since the beginning. It has not only strived to keep its local cities as ethically fashionable as possible, but also supports the art community by hosting local artists, musicians, fashion shows, and events on a monthly basis.

Mail Art, a brief history...Mail art, which emerged in the late 1960s as a collective, networked medium and an undisciplined offspring of Fluxus, Conceptual art, and experimental poetry, allowed artists to circulate and exchange works and ideas in a sphere uncontrolled by institutions, markets, or state censorship.
